This saying use to piss off someone I knew. They would say something about someone in such a judgmental way. It really annoyed me that they would judge people so easily. I knew saying this saying would annoy them, so every time they judged someone, I said it, over and over again.
The point is, everyone has their own beliefs, their own way of doing things, their own likes and dislikes. We as a society have become so intolerant of things that we don’t like because they are just not our way, and to hell with those who disagree. People view others as being “wrong” in a sense. I have a very open mind, and I don’t just say that, I mean I have a VERY OPEN MIND. I’m also a very compassionate person and I can easily put myself in others shoes. When I say something, I don’t just blur out whats on my mind. I think about the company that is around me, or at least try to, and put myself in their shoes and think, “Will they be offended, hurt, or alienated by what I am about to say?” If so, then I must be careful how I say things and be considerate of other people. Words hurt people, they really do. Judging someone is, and I think we can all agree, a bad thing. You are placing yourself above the other person, like you are better then them when you judge.
Be mindful what you say, and be tolerant of others beliefs. If someone wants to wear something goofy, or do some things different then you, then “To each their own.”
